Do you have a policy for handling emergency roof repairs after a windstorm? Yes, it is important for us to remember that after a severe storm or natural disaster we have a civic responsiility, even duty, to serve the community and to join efforts with others doing the same whether they be governmental agencies, insurance companies or other roofing companies.
Before we can do that though we have a fiduciary responsibility to our past customers to make sure our workmanship held up.
So our policy is that while the winds are still blowing we gather with cell phones in hand. The front office staff answer the incoming phone calls as usual while everyone else starts calling past customers to check their needs, if any.
What lead up to your making the claim that your roofs do not blow off? Last winter we had two significant (100 mph plus)wind storms. After each we made hundreds and hundreds of phone calls to past customers but could not locate a single damaged shingle or roof.
Have any of your roofs ever been damaged by wind? Yes. We were just unable to locate them right after the winds died. We had a piece of ridge vent come loose in Eagle River and we had three roofs each lose less than 2 shingles. Considering the 500 or so roofs we have put on is the rough equivalant of 2 million shingle tabs, losing less than a handful of shingles hardly seems material.
